It's cold and raining hard and I still have no heat. It is quiet though, the house sounds alive, rumbling digestively over the sound of the computer's fan, the occasional crackle of the pine-cones in the unlit fire-place, the endless driving rain.

I'm waiting...

  1. "still have no heat" sounds like an ongoing landlord/boiler saga? Never knew pine cones cracked - were they in the process of closing up/opening up in tune with the weather?

  2. I think they expand and contract depending on the relative heat in the room. Don't quote me on that though. I'm not a professional scientist. Or a professional anything. The Landlord needn't be involved as I was merely out of heating oil. My bad.

  3. Have the comments on this thing gone weird again. I despair of this shit-hole. I mean it's no Jottify but...

  4. Blogger, eh... it won't let me put pics up at the moment. Running out of oil sounds like an admin fail. I need to get round to paying my gas'n'elec - owe them 3 months now, though they haven't bothered to ask for it, after combining both accounts which knocked out the direct debit. The success of online billing...

  5. It wasn't an admin fail. It was an inability to really get to grips with the notion of having a fucking great oil-tanker in the garden controlling any heat coming in and out of the house. It's somewhat outside my frame of reference.
